Our Main Website

As has been noted by a number of people, it is possible to get to the main website by accessing one of the static pages. Below is the link to the calender page which is just static html but does let you see the dates and maps. If you try to access the news page or the results page you will just get an error. So news and results are here for the time being but the other portions can still be reached.

Keith...I hope this doesn't interfere with the work necessary to get the site back up.

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP ROAD RACE - RESULTS

We had 56 riders out for our club championship. Groups 5A and 5B did 4 laps for a total of 72.5k while the rest of the groups did 3 laps for just over 55k. The weather co-operated and with the strong south wind the groups were darned close to predicted times.

Group 3 stayed away and finished clear of groups 5A and B by less than 1 minute. The winner was John Vanden Elzen with Bill Ross in second and Dave Hammond in third.

Thanks to Al Norley, Jake Tuero and little John for officiating.

Preliminary results are posted below. I have accounted for all 55 riders but there seems to be two extra. One was just someone riding by but the other....not sure yet.

Time Gaps were Group 5A @ 0:00, Group 1 @ 0:30, Group 5b @ 3:00, Group 2 @ 9:09, Group 3 @ 15:13, Group 4A @ 20:11, Group 4B @ 22:50

Special Saturday Morning Ride

HAVE YOU SIGNED UP ON-LINE YET?
There's only two weeks to go!

When you do - as I am sure you will - and you must do so by midnight on Thursday August 20 - remember two of the following things:

1. Let me know, so I can tell the organizers how many Eagles to expect.
2. Set your alarm clock for an earlier start (8:00AM SHARP) from the regular Saturday morning meeting place (or drive/ride to Bradford for the 8:30 start).
3. Fill your water bottle with carrot juice.

Thanks,
Andrew

PERCY SHROPSHIRE MEMORIAL RACE

PERCY SHROPSHIRE MEMORIAL - Saturday August 8, Bradford North/South Course , 10:00am

This is the show-down for the club road championship. As with all our road events, this is an ability-based, group-pursuit, handicapped format (ABGPHF), so it is suitable for all ability levels. We hope that Kathy Shropshire will be there to present the trophy, which is in memory of Percy who was an early member of the Eagles and a great person and athlete. There may even be refreshments available and Bob will probably bring our Eagles clothing inventory, perhaps even featuring our new and much sought-after arm warmers and socks.Do not miss this marquee event of the season and if you don't want to ride a ABGPHF, or don't know what it is, come and find out and/or watch/socialize.
